Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski will both play Sunday. Sorry, Jets.

After some doubt earlier in the week, Brady and Gronk will take field in Week 12.

Both Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and quarterback Tom Brady will suit up for the Patriots on Sunday against the Jets. Brady was dealing with swelling and soreness in his knee this week. Gronk has sufficiently recovered from a chest injury which included bleeding and bruising.

The Patriots tight end suffered a chest injury after a hard hit from Seahawks safety Earl Thomas in Week 10. Initial reports had suggested Gronkowski suffered a punctured lung, but the Patriots reportedly regarded the injury as “not overly serious.

Gronkowski’s status has been a tossup throughout the week, as he was limited in practice during the week as alternating reports came out about his status. ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported that the Patriots did not expect Gronk to play, although his status remained up in the air until Sunday.

Brady was a surprise addition to the injury report this week. He didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday, but returned to the field on Friday for some limited work with the team.

Gronk leads the league with 21.6 yards per catch and will add another receiving option to the already high-powered Patriots offense. He’s caught six touchdowns and averages 65 yards per game in 10 career games against the Jets.

Brady’s got a career record of 21-7 against the Jets, with 39 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

Brady and Gronk aren’t the only players on the injury report playing on Sunday. Martellus Bennett, Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan, all listed as questionable, will be playing this week.

That puts the Patriots offense back to nearly full strength, and it could be a long afternoon for the Jets.
