Week 12 of the 2016 NFL regular season is just about coming to a close with only the Monday Night Football game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.
Week 13 features two teams on a bye, which will have an impact both on positional players and defense/special teams units. We’ll rank out a few D/ST options to get you ready for Week 13. Throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change (via Yahoo!) and news arrives.
Waiver wire D/ST rankings, Week 13
1. Dallas Cowboys (47 percent owned)
The Cowboys will face a Minnesota offense that has struggled to generate points this season. Dallas should be a good start for Week 13.
2. Cincinnati Bengals (26 percent owned)
The Bengals will host the Eagles and their rookie QB Carson Wentz. Cincinnati’s defensive unit has had interceptions in each of its past five games, and the trend is likely to continue.
3. Jacksonville Jaguars (two percent owned)
The Jaguars may be playable for two weeks, as the defensive unit will face the Broncos, followed by the Vikings. Those are two offenses that have struggled to produce this season, which should benefit the scoring of Jacksonville’s defense.
4. Chicago Bears (two percent owned)
Chicago plays San Francisco in Week 13, a team that hasn’t exhibited the best ball security this year. In addition, the 49ers have had a good deal of inconsistency on offense. Chicago’s defensive unit should have a good number of opportunities.
5. San Francisco 49ers (one percent owned)
The 49ers will likely play Bears backup quarterback Matt Barkley in Week 13. He looked far from stellar in the Bears’ loss to the Titans, and the 49ers should be able to capitalize on his performance.
