Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Tight end rankings for Week 13

The waiver wire begins late Tuesday, so it is time to figure out your best options. We’ve got rankings for the major positions: QB | RB | WR | TE | DST

The 12th week of the 2016 regular season is just about coming to a close with only the Monday Night Football game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.

We will be ranking the top five or more players likely to be available in your league at each of the major positions. Some weeks there might not be five good options available, but we’ll scour for the best we can find. Additionally, throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change (via Yahoo!) and news arrives.

Waiver wire tight end rankings, Week 13

1. C.J. Fiedorowicz, Houston Texans (35 percent owned)

The Houston tight end has become a favorite target of Brock Osweiler, who has failed to find success throwing the ball deep. Fiedorowicz caught four passes for 42 yards in the Texans’ loss to the Chargers. Fiedorowicz has become the main pass-catching tight end, and should have a good game against the woeful Green Bay defense next week.

2. Lance Kendricks, Los Angeles Rams (15 percent owned)

Kendricks has become one of Jared Goff’s favorite targets in his short time as the starter, and this should continue as the rookie quarterback develops. The Rams tight end caught four passes for 51 yards and a touchdown in his team’s loss to New Orleans. Look for Kendricks to continue this momentum against New England in Week 13.

3. Vance McDonald, San Francisco 49ers (10 percent owned)

McDonald led the 49ers in yards and targets in week 12, but Colin Kaepernick spread the ball around. The San Francisco tight end caught four passes for 60 yards in the loss to the Dolphins. McDonald’s volume is secure, as he’s had at least six targets the past five games.

4. Ladarius Green, Pittsburgh Steelers (10 percent owned)

Green may be a player to note as the playoffs approach and his usage/health improve. The Steelers tight end caught two passes for 67 yards in Pittsburgh’s win over Indianapolis. Green was only on the field for 26 percent of snaps in Week 12, but an unfavorable game script and cautiousness over his health likely contributed to his fairly low snap count. Look for Green’s usage and production to increase against the Giants in Week 13.

5. Vernon Davis, Washington (nine percent owned)

Davis has produced admirably playing behind Jordan Reed, who could miss time with a shoulder injury. If he does, Davis will see an increase in usage in Washington’s explosive offense. He caught five passes for 68 yards in Washington’s loss to Dallas. However, he does have a tough matchup against Arizona in Week 13.
