In his past two games for New York, the running back has gained 341 total yards and scored two touchdowns on 61 touches. If anyone doesn’t want to do the math, Powell is averaging over 5.5 yards per touch over the past two weeks.
Fantasy impact: The Jets running back will try to keep up his excellent play when he and the team go up against the New England Patriots this week.
Powell could have a tough time producing on Saturday since the Patriots are giving up the sixth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2016. New England has allowed a player from the position group to score a touchdown in only three of its 14 games this season.
The New York running back could struggle against the Patriots on Saturday. But then again, no one expected Powell to produce on the field like he has in his past two games. If anything, he seems like a good flex option for fantasy owners this week.
