When the Green Bay Packers decided to convert wide receiver Ty Montgomery to a running back a few weeks ago, not many envisioned it would actually work. But Montgomery proved many wrong with his performance last week during the Packers’ win over the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Can Ty Montgomery keep producing at a high level?
Green Bay’s wide receiver–turned–running back is excelling in his new position this year. We explore the fantasy implications.

Against the Bears, the Green Bay running back ended his day with 162 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.
Fantasy impact: Montgomery has a good opportunity to put up some more impressive numbers again this week when he and the Packers face the Minnesota Vikings.
Yes, the Vikings are giving up the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2016, but they have been struggling against the position group recently. In five of their past six games, Minnesota’s defense has allowed an opposing running back to finish the day with at least 90 total yards.
The fact that the Vikings defense has also allowed the position group to score five touchdowns in their past five games could be enough to convince some fantasy owners to insert Montgomery into their starting lineups this week.
