2016 Alamo Bowl final score: Oklahoma State rolls over Colorado 38-8

This one was over early.

Colorado entered the 2016 Alamo Bowl looking to cap off a dream season under fourth-year head coach Mike MacIntyre. But Oklahoma State’s offense came out firing on all cylinders, scoring two touchdowns and a field goal to take a 17-0 lead at halftime.

The Cowboys didn’t let up in the second half, scoring two more passing touchdowns to pile it on and go up 31-0. The foot was never let off the gas, and the Cowboys got the Alamo Bowl victory over Colorado by a score of 38-8.

The Cowboys put Colorado’s big season to rest with the victory.

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy’s mullet, which he has been rocking all season, was a beautifully majestic as ever at halftime.

In the second half, Oklahoma State fans started to get frustrated when the offense failed to score on a possession. This reaction came after a missed 25-yard field goal at the start of the second quarter.

An injured Colorado QB Sefo Liufau, who was reported as not expected to return with an ankle injury at the start of the second half, would return in the fourth quarter to try and give Colorado some life.

He wasn’t able to do too much against the Cowboys’ defense, but he did get the Buffs on the board for the first time all night in the fourth quarter, making it a 31-8 game against Oklahoma State.

For Colorado, despite losing this game, it was an unprecedented successful season in Boulder. It marked the first ten-win season for the Buffs since 2001, and MacIntyre was named the Walter Camp Coach Of The Year after the season. the Pac-12 media predicted the Buffs to finish last in the Pac-12 South at the start of the season.

Oklahoma State, meanwhile, finished the year with losses to Central Michigan, Baylor and Oklahoma at the end of the season. A 10-3 finish with a big win over Pac-12 South Champion Colorado isn’t a bad consolation prize for missing out on a Big 12 title.
