2016 NHL Awards: Washington Capitals coach Barry Trotz wins Jack Adams Award
Trotz led the Capitals to the best record in the league.

On Wednesday night at the NHL Awards, Washington Capitals coach Barry Trotz took home the Jack Adams Award for the best coach of the 2015-16 NHL season. The award is voted on by NHL broadcasters from every team.
This is the second Jack Adams Award nomination for Trotz in his 17th year as an NHL head coach. Under his tutelage this season, the Washington Capitals won the Presidents’ Trophy with 120 points, winning the Metropolitan Division in the process.
The Capitals set a franchise record for wins and road wins, and went the entire regular season without suffering back-to-back regulation losses. Washington also finished with a league-best +59 goal differential.
