The New England Patriots are reportedly looking to trade wide receiver Aaron Dobson, according to TheMMQB.com’s Albert Breer on Tuesday. Dobson was selected by the Patriots in the second round (59th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Aaron Dobson may be leaving town, fantasy value still minimal
The Patriots are reportedly looking to move their wide receiver. We explore the fantasy implications.
Fantasy Impact: As of right now, Dobson has little to no value for 2016. It likely has something to do with only catching 16 passes in the last two seasons.
He is still only 25 years old and at 6’3”, 210 lbs., he still has the potential to blossom into a successful NFL receiver. Dobson looked to be on track to becoming one of Tom Brady’s favorite targets in New England after he finished his rookie season with 37 catches for 519 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games.
But the Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick are never ones to shy away from trading a player, so seeing Dobson moved to another team would not be a surprise at all. It could help his fantasy value to land elsewhere, but for now fantasy owners should stay away from adding Dobson to their roster.
