Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles’ return to the field from a torn ACL is reportedly progressing a bit slower than the team had hoped for this summer, according to ESPN’s Adam Teicher. So much so that Charles has yet to gain back his role as the Chiefs’ featured running back and is usually the third running back in line to get reps with the starters.
Jamaal Charles’ recovery moving slowly, could impact early season fantasy value
The Chiefs running back is still splitting first-team reps with the team’s backups. We explore the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: 2016 fantasy owners have not seemed to read into the fact that Charles has yet to play in any of Kansas City’s games this preseason. He is still maintaining a late-first, early-second round ADP, but fantasy owners should be cautious if they decide to select Charles in their draft.
The news of Charles getting very few first-team reps this close to the regular season is a bit concerning. If drafting Charles becomes a reality, fantasy owners may want to consider handcuffing him with one of the Chiefs backup running backs (Spencer Ware or Charcandrick West) for at least the early part of the year.
Charles has been successful after an ACL injury once already during his career, but can he do it again?
