Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls apparently “looks great,” according to head coach Pete Carroll during a press conference on Wednesday. He also mentioned that Rawls could possibly play in the Seahawks’ final preseason game on Thursday against the Oakland Raiders.
Thomas Rawls ‘looks great,’ possible 2016 fantasy breakout
The Seahawks’ running back will likely be ready to play in the team’s regular season opener. We explore the fantasy implications.

Seattle’s second-year running back is coming off a 2015 season that ended early due to a broken ankle he suffered during a game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fantasy Impact: At least for the beginning of 2016, Rawls should be a good RB2 option for fantasy owners. His current ADP has fallen a little bit within the last month, but he is still one of the top 15 running backs in terms of draft selection.
With Marshawn Lynch now retired, Rawls is looking to step in and be the Seahawks’ No. 1 option at running back this season. He had an impressive rookie campaign in 2015 that included him rushing for 830 yards and scoring five touchdowns in only seven starts.
The news from Carroll Wednesday is great for the running back and his team, as it seems he will be ready to play in Seattle’s first regular season game on Sept. 11 against the Miami Dolphins.
