Welcome to Week 2 of the Daily Fantasy season. With one week in the books, prices are starting to make corrections, but not quickly enough to prevent us from finding some nice values on FanDuel. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at wide receiver who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.

PLAY

Willie Snead $6,700/Sterling Shepard $6,200 (New Orleans Saints at New York Giants)

I would certainly not dissuade anyone from rolling with ODB ($9,400) or Brandin Cooks ($8,400) in what could be the shootout of the year, but if you want value, Snead and Shepard are the guys to target. Victor Cruz ($5,700) is also very much in play, but for big-play ability, Shepard is worth the extra $500. A good strategy here might be pairing Manning/Beckham and adding Snead (or Brees/Cooks/Shepard) as correlation plays.

Allen Hurns $6,900 (Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers)

The Chargers are going to focus their attention on limiting Allen Robinson, who costs $1,300 more than Hurns. Getting receiver exposure to this offense is a good plan, including a stack with Blake Bortles. But going with Hurns gives you extra flexibility with the rest of your lineup.

Mohamed Sanu $6,700 (Atlanta Falcons at Oakland Raiders)

I am a little wary of Julio Jones this week (see below) but I think the Falcons will be throwing a ton in this game and Sanu, at $2,600 less than Julio, could match or even exceed Jones’ production. Even if he doesn’t, Sanu should at least pay off his price tag.

Emmanuel Sanders $6,700 (Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts)

Not much has changed with the Colts’ secondary, which makes the Broncos’ passing game intriguing. Demaryius Thomas is only $7,000, but he’s hard to trust with his hip issues. If he is limited, that makes Sanders even more attractive against a defense not equipped to stop him. If you think Trevor Siemian can get him the ball, Sanders should do a lot with it.

Travis Benjamin $6,100 (Chargers vs. Jaguars)

With Keenan Allen done for the year, Benjamin is going to get the first shot at soaking up all that production. Philip Rivers isn’t going to stop throwing the ball and Benjamin looked good last week against the Chiefs. Another place to look here is Tyrell Williams, who sits at $5,400 and looks like an emerging talent who could break out sooner rather than later.

NAY

Julio Jones $9,300 (Falcons at Raiders)

Call me crazy, but between the ankle issues and the high price tag, I’m feeling a fade here. I probably am crazy, but if I’m paying this much for a receiver, I’m adding the extra $100 for Odell Beckham Jr. (at home in a shootout) or saving the extra $100 for the other-worldly Antonio Brown.

Mike Evans $8,100 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arizona Cardinals)

The Cardinals are 0-1 and at home. Their secondary has All-Pro talent. This is not the Falcons. Evans is a trap play if there ever was one.
