In 14 games played this year, the Panthers’ quarterback has only completed 52.7 percent of his passes (30th in NFL) for 3,272 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
Fantasy Impact: This week, Newton and Carolina will be facing off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers’ defense is giving up the 15th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. But in their last five games, Tampa Bay has only allowed a total of three passing touchdowns while compelling seven interceptions during that same time period.
Yahoo! only has Newton projected to throw for 233 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on Sunday. In most cases, it would be best for fantasy owners to keep the quarterback on the bench this week.
