Before this season began, there was a ton of doubt surrounding the career of Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta. A series of injuries had only limited Pitta to play in seven games from 2013 to 2015 and some wondered if the tight end should hang up his cleats for good.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 17: Dennis Pitta hoping to end his season on a high note
The Ravens’ tight end has been impressive in 2016 after missing most of the previous three seasons due to injuries. We explore the fantasy implications.

But Pitta stayed determined and that led to him returning to the field this year. The tight end has become an important part of Baltimore’s offense once again this season while also setting a single-season career high in catches with 75.
Fantasy Impact: This Sunday, Pitta will get one more chance to add to his 2016 totals when he and the Ravens take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Bengals’ defense has given up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2016. Three players from the position group have been able to finish their day with at least 50 receiving yards during Cincinnati’s last four games.
For Sunday, Yahoo! has Pitta projected to finish with five catches for 40 yards. The tight end is averaging over seven targets per game over the last four weeks, so opportunities should not be a concern for those fantasy owners who are considering him as a starter.
