The San Francisco 49ers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10 and they could be getting a huge weapon back for their offense. Running back Christian McCaffrey is listed as questionable for the game but is expected to be active for the game.
McCaffrey injured his Achilles in both of his legs and was placed on injured reserve to start the season. It was initially unclear when McCaffrey would be available. However, the news improved and in October it became clear he would be activated soon after the 49ers’ Week 9 bye.
The 49ers opened his practice window this week and he quickly got back. He was a limited participant on Wednesday and Thursday, and then was upgraded to a full participant on Friday.
Will Christian McCaffrey play in Week 10?
It would take an unexpected development to keep McCaffrey from returning on Sunday. The team officially activated him off injured reserve and head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Thursday that the team expected him to play this weekend.
