Kentucky vs. Texas-Arlington final score: James Young leads Wildcats to victory, 105-76

John Calipari started all freshmen for the second-straight game and James Young rose to the occasion.

James Young, Julius Randle and the rest of the Kentucky Wildcats exploded on the Texas-Arlington Mavericks in a 105-76 rout on Tuesday.

Young hinted at this kind of game with his performance against Michigan State, and he finished Tuesday night with 26 points to lead the Wildcats. Randle added 22 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth straight double-double to open the season.

It was the highest scoring total for the Wildcats this season as five players finished in double-figures. Kentucky shot close to 51 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Mavericks 46-34 in the game. It was the second consecutive game that coach John Calipari has filled all five starting lineup spots with freshmen.

Brandon Edwards led the Mavericks with 24 points and Reger Dowell added 20 points. The Mavericks struggled with foul trouble throughout the game. Junior guard Jamel Outler fouled out as the Mavericks were whistled often, racking up 29 personal fouls.

It was the first 100-point game for the Wildcats since beating LIU Brooklyn 104-75 on Nov. 23, 2012.
