College basketball scores: Career nights galore on Tuesday

Frank Kaminsky is partying in Madison tonight.

There weren't any upsets on Tuesday night, but it was still a thrilling night of college basketball as multiple players set career highs and school records were broken. With 43 points, Frank Kaminksy was the hero of the night in the Wisconsin Badgers' win.

Lets take a look at scores around the league.

No. 2 Kansas 86, Iona 66

Freshman Jayhawks center Joel Embiid picked up his first career double-double in leading Kansas to victory. He finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds, shooting a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor. It was a solid team effort from the Jayhawks who also saw nice games from Perry Ellis and Andrew Wiggins.

No. 3 Louisville 87, Hartford 48

In a day of records, just another Louisville win was just another Louisville win. Montrezl Harrell led the Cardinals with 20 points and the Cardinals finished with less than 10 turnovers for the seventh straight game. The Cardinals played their standard game, taking high percentage shots and forcing a lot of turnovers. Russ Smith added 14 and Chris Jones added 11 points for Louisville.

No. 4 Kentucky 105, Texas-Arlington 76

James Young hit five three-pointers and led the Wildcats with 26 points as Kentucky showcased how dangerous the young team can be. Coach John Calipari started five freshmen for the second consecutive game, and for the third consecutive game a different player led the team in points. Julius Randle continued to cement himself as one of the best players in the league with his fifth straight double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

No. 6 Duke 83, East Carolina 74

Rodney Hood scored a career-high 30 points as the Blue Devils got a stiff test against the Pirates in the NIT Season Tip-Off. Duke was only ahead by a point with seven minutes left in the game, but Hood and Jabari Parker took over to put the game out of reach. Parker finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. Parker has scored at least 20 points in each game this season.

No. 7 Oklahoma State 101, No. 11 Memphis 80

Not content with everyone else in the college landscape storming the highlight reel, Marcus Smart had a career high 39 points as Oklahoma State mashed Memphis into oblivion. With Kevin Durant stopping by to peek a visit, Smart scored 26 points in the first half, outscoring the Tigers on his own for a good portion of it. Freshman Nick King finished with a team high 23 points for Memphis, who saw their senior guards struggle in the game.

No. 12 Wisconsin 103, North Dakota 85

Junior center Frank Kaminsky set the scoring record for the Badgers as they had a rare offensive explosion to take down the Bison. Kaminsky's record of 43 points is one better than the previous record of 42, and every point was needed as Wisconsin had to overcome Troy Huff's career-high 37 points. Ken Barnes set Wisconsin's scoring record in 1965 and Michael Finley tied it in 1994.

No. 17 Oregon 69, Utah Valley State 54

Joseph Young continues to lead the Ducks to victory and helped spur a big 16-0 run to push Oregon past Utah Valley State. Young scored 20 points, lowering his season average to 26 points per game. Johnathan Loyd added 12 points for the Ducks, who had to overcome a pesky Wolverines squad.
