Wichita State vs. DePaul final score: Shockers crush DePaul to reach CBE Hall of Fame finals
The Wichita State win will make it a mid-major championship game Tuesday night when the Shockers face BYU.
The Shockers, now 6-0, will face BYU Tuesday night in the championship game. The Cougars advanced with a four-point win over Texas earlier in the night.
Wichita State was ahead by just a point midway through the first half, but a 16-0 run quickly gave the Shockers control of the game. From there, DePaul never drew to within single digits.
Ron Baker led all scorers with 21 points on an efficient 7-10 shooting. His backcourt teammate Tekele Cotton had 16. Those two, plus a 15-point, seven-rebound performance from Cleanthony Early, proved to be too much for a Blue Demons team that dropped to 3-2 with the loss.
Brandon Young led DePaul with 16 points, though he was 0-5 on his three-point attempts. As a team, DePaul shot just 6-20 from long distance.
