Gonzaga holds off South Alabama

Gonzaga opened up a 20-3 lead to start the game and took a 16-point lead into the locker room, but South Alabama used a 10-1 run early in the second half to stay close. Down the stretch, the Bulldogs were unable to put much breathing room between them and their opponent, and actually lost the second-half scoring battle, 34-27.

North Dakota State came into Saturday off a surprising win at Notre Dame and was looking to make it two straight against power conference programs. But the Bison never led and could not draw closer than 13 points in the second half, leaving the game in little doubt.
Ohio State made 10 of its 20 shots from beyond the arc, led by three triples each from Smith and Ross. The Buckeyes also out-rebounded North Dakota State, 36-26.
