In another instant classic between Michigan State and Michigan, the Wolverines outlasted the Spartans, 80-75.

Michigan dispatched an injury-riddle Michigan State team behind 19 from Nik Stauskas.
The driving force for Michigan was Nik Stauskas, who is making a case to be an All-American this season. The sophomore was 5-of-6 from deep, totaling 19 points on the day.
Equally impressive was Michigan State’s Gary Harris, torching Michigan for a career-high 27 points. The sophomore guard hit four three-pointers in six attempts, his third straight game with at least a pair of triples.
The Spartans were playing without big man Adreian Payne and versatile wing Branden Dawson. Payne missed his fifth straight game with a sore foot, while Dawson is out 4-5 weeks with a broken hand. The Wolverines are still without Mitch McGary, who isn't expected to return this season after undergoing back surgery.
Michigan is one of the hottest teams in the country, winning their night straight game and seventh to start conference play. The Wolverines have knocked off Top 10 teams in each of their last three games, having previously beaten Wisconsin and Iowa. Michigan is alone is first place as the only undefeated team in the Big Ten.
Michigan State drops its first game of Big Ten play, sitting alone in second place at 7-1.
