College basketball scores: Iowa routs Michigan, 85-67
The Hawkeyes split the season series with the Wolverines, coasting behind Roy Devyn Marble’s 26 points.
Michigan was sunk early, unable to keep up with Marble's theatrics. Caris LaVert scored 22 points, but much of it occurred when the game was out of hand. Leading scorer Nik Stauskas scored just 10 points on six field goal attempts.
The win moves Iowa to 7-4 in Big Ten play, inching closer to first-place Michigan State. At 9-1, the Spartans take over sole possession of the top spot from 9-2 Michigan.
Kansas State 74, No. 15 Texas 57
The Wildcats halted the Longhorns’ meteoric rise on Saturday, riding Marcus Foster’s career-high 34 points in the win. The freshman Foster hit five threes and every one of his eight two-point attempts in a dominant performance. Texas was riding a seven-game win streak that included wins over Kansas, Baylor and Iowa State. Isaiah Taylor scored a ho-hum 17 points for the Longhorns, shooting just 5-of-14 for the day.
No. 18 Kentucky 69, Mississippi State 59
The Wildcats picked up their third straight win, holding the Bulldogs to under 40 percent shooting in a nice defensive effort. Julius Randle led Kentucky with 16 points, shooting 8-for-13 from the field. The Wildcats improve to 8-2 in the SEC after winning six of their last seven contests, but still trail 10-0 Florida by two games in the standings. Next up is Auburn, followed but the all-important matchup with the Gators in Rupp Arena next Saturday.
