College basketball scores: SMU hands Cincinnati first AAC loss
The Bearcats’ 15-game winning streak came to an end at Moody Coliseum against an SMU team ready to move into the Top 25.

The Mustangs dismantled No. 7 Cincinnati on Saturday at Moody Coliseum, 76-55. They led almost the entire night for their third win this season over a ranked team.
SMU’s 76 points tied for the most that the Bearcats have allowed this season. Cincinnati has not allowed more than that in a regular season game since Feb. 11, 2012, against Marquette.
The win moves SMU up to 8-3 in the American Athletic Conference and puts the Mustangs in position to enter the Top 25 on Monday. Cincinnati is now 11-1 in the AAC and saw its 15-game winning streak come to an end.
The Bearcats trailed by 14 at halftime and by 18 with 17:22 to play, but fought back to pull within seven at 48-41 on a pair of free throws from Titus Rubles with 10:07 left.
From there, the Mustangs took over. SMU went on an 11-0 run in a span of less than two minutes, capped by a three-pointer and a dunk from Nic Moore. Moore had 14 points and Nick Russell and Ben Moore led SMU with 15 points each.
Sean Kilpatrick had 22 points to lead Cincinnati in the loss, but he shot just 5-for-18 overall and 3-for-12 from three.
No. 13 Saint Louis 65 La Salle 63
The Billikens did what Cincinnati could not on Saturday and won their 16th-straight game. Jordair Jett had the game-winner on a layup with five seconds to go, good for two of his game-high 25 points.
The road win kept Saint Louis unbeaten in the Atlantic 10 at 9-0, while La Salle dropped to 4-5 in the conference.
Jett actually had what could have been the game-winning shot with just under a minute left. He laid the ball in with 56 seconds to go to put the Billikens up 63-61, but Tyreek Duren responded for the Explorers with a layup of his own to set up the final play.
Jerrell Wright had 21 for La Salle, while center Steve Zack had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
No. 21 Oklahoma 88 Baylor 72
Baylor’s slide continued, this time with a road loss to No. 21 Oklahoma. The Bears have now lost seven out of eight and eight out of 10 overall to fall to just 2-8 in the Big 12. This all came after a 12-1 start to the season.
The Bears trailed 54-49 in the second half when the Sooners pulled away with a 14-3 run to put them up by 16 midway through the second half. Another 10-2 Oklahoma spurt in the final minutes kept the game out of reach.
Oklahoma was led by its backcourt, behind 21 points from Isaiah Cousins and 19 from Buddy Hield. The two guards combined to shoot 13-for-21 from the field.
Isaiah Austin had 21 points and six rebounds to lead Baylor.
No. 11 Duke 89 Boston College 68
Duke used an 18-0 second-half outburst to run past the Eagles in Chestnut Hill. Jabari Parker had a dominant night with 29 points and 16 rebounds, both career highs for the freshman.
The win moves Duke to 8-3 in the ACC and gives the Blue Devils seven wins in their last eight games, with that lone loss coming last week in a classic at the Carrier Dome. Boston College is now just 6-17 overall and 2-8 in the ACC.
As a team, the Blue Devils shot 56 percent from the field and went 11-for-21 from three-point range. Quinn Cook made five of his seven attempts from long distance.
Olivier Hanlan had 25 for the Eagles, who got just six points from their bench.
