USC commit Torrodney Prevot planning other visits

Despite maintaining the solidity of his pledge, the 2013 defensive end is still looking around.

It may seem paradoxical, but it’s the nature of recruiting these days -- a prospect maintains publicly that they are solidly committed to a school, but still interested in taking visits elsewhere.

That's the case for 2013 Houston (TX) Alief Taylor defensive end Torrodney Prevot, among many others, who committed to the USC Trojans at the end of July, taking what was then the last spot in a class that is capped at 18 due to scholarship restrictions.

Though Prevot recently told GigEmNation that he is “pretty definite about them right now ($)” in regards to his commitment to the Trojans, he does have plans to visit at least three other schools when his senior season is over.

Right now, it appears as if the California Golden Bears, Texas A&M Aggies, and Oklahoma Sooners will all receive official visits from the 6-4, 205-pound prospect who was recently named an Army All-American.

Prevot already took a visit to the Cotton Bowl this year to watch the Sooners dismantle the Longhorns. Both Oklahoma and Texas A&M hold a proximity advantage over the Trojans.

Things aren’t exactly golden around the USC program right now either. There’s the three disappointing losses. The recent scandal with the deflated footballs. A growing thought that head coach Lane Kiffin could be on the hot seat as a result of all those issues.

A coaching change for the Trojans could cause Prevot and other prospects to open up their respective recruitments. For now, USC fans will just have to hope that the edge rusher extraordinaire isn’t blown away on any of those three visits. And that Kiffin finishes the season strong.
