Committed to the Texas Longhorns since February, 2013 Fort Worth Arlington Heights defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson has finally scheduled his official visits to see the Alabama Crimson Tide and USC Trojans.
Texas Commit A’Shawn Robinson Will Visit Alabama, USC
After visiting Florida State earlier this fall, the Metroplex product will take three more official visits.

After traveling to Tallahassee to see the Florida St. Seminoles play the Clemson Tigers back in September, Robinson told ESPN on Saturday that he will make his way to Tuscaloosa ($) to see the Tide play the Texas A&M Aggies this coming weekend.
Then, following the completion of his senior season, Robinson will take his official visit to Texas for the team’s banquet in early December before flying out to Los Angeles.
A few days ago, the Trojans didn’t look like an overly serious threat to the Longhorns, as the 18-man class was full, but with the decommitment of California safety Max Redfield, there is now a spot for Robinson in the class.
Whether it remains open until Robinson’s visit in December is another question.
A prospect who did not have a chance to take visits before committing, the naturally strong 6-5, 300-pound Robinson, who starred at The Opening during the summer, says that he wants to compare the other schools to Texas before he signs in February.
Throughout the summer and early fall, Robinson has said repeatedly that he is 100% committed to Texas, but seemed to back off that stance a bit on Saturday in his interview -- he’s now saying that he’s a Longhorn “for right now.”
In the past, head coach Mack Brown has not been keen on commits taking visits, but Robinson is the top prospect in the Texas class at the moment, so the 'Horns will fight hard to keep him in the fold.
How well the visits to Alabama and USC go will determine how difficult that is.
