Harvey reaffirms pledge to A&M after Texas visit


Nick Harvey at the Army Bowl Wescott Eberts (SB Nation)Days after Richmond (Texas) Bush cornerback and Texas A&M commit Nick Harvey said that he was done with the recruiting process, reports emerged on Friday that he was taking an official visit to Texas to speak with the new Longhorns coaching staff.
The 5’9, 175-pounder had previously made at least three other secret visits to Texas or to Texas game, including a trip for the spring game in 2013 that was outed when Harvey walked past the media room following the scrimmage and was spotted.

But Harvey told AggieYell.com that the departure of former head coach Mack Brown and defensive backs coach Duane Akina ended any chance of him taking an official visit to Texas, so when the new coaching staff contacted him, he declined the opportunity to trip to Austin.

A Junior Day visit didn’t happen, but the versatile prospect who has the talent to play wide receiver, cornerback or safety at the next level did hang around after the Texas Relays to see watch the Orange-White game:
There was also further confirmation from ESPN that Harvey was at the game after the Aggie pledge told A&M site TexAgs that he was back in Houston, which he clearly was not.
