ALLEN, Texas -- Carrollton (Texas) Hebron safety Jamal Adams has a lot of decisions to make.

Trips to Florida and California could help the talented safety narrow his list before the fall.
Ultimately, the biggest one will be where he decides to play his college football, a decision that is some ways away right now.
Then there are the decisions about summer visits. He plans to make a journey to Florida to see the Gator and Seminole programs, as well as the state of California, where he would visit USC and UCLA.
And there are the choices involved in narrowing everything down to a top -0 list, which he told SB Nation Recruiting could be in the offing before his senior season of high school football starts this fall.
To make that list, he’ll first have to decide which schools are standing out for him, a process Adams has not yet attacked with any seriousness.
“I like them all right now,” said Adams following the Dallas Nike Football Training Camp on Sunday, where he missed out on positional MVP honors, but did punch his ticket to The Opening, which will be his first trip out to Oregon.
Texas and Oklahoma have long been thought to be two schools that have a strong chance of landing Adams, but he didn’t have a lot to say about either on Sunday, noting merely that he’s impressed by Texas defensive back coach Duane Akina’s body of work and that he likes the “opportunity” in Austin, while saying that the atmosphere is quite different at both schools.
There’s the choice about which postseason All-Star game he will attend, where he could announce his decision. He has invites to both the U.S. Army All-American bowl and the Under Armour All-American Bowl, so he’s got options, but he’s also receiving some pressure to play in San Antonio with some of his friends, including LSU commit Edward Paris and another top uncommitted safety in the state in Brandon Simmons.
One decision he won’t have to make is about proximity, because he says that it won’t be a factor in his decision, not the greatest news for Texas and Oklahoma fans who may have been hoping that Adams would want to stay close to home.
He also knows about the biggest factors in his eventual decision, which will be academics and a team’s depth chart, because he fully believes he is capable of coming in and making a difference early and there’s nothing in his body of work on the field during the fall or at camps like the Dallas NFTC to suggest that won’t be the case.
