While Carrollton (Texas) Hebron safety Jamal Adams has been reluctant to name any leaders or schools standing out to him for roughly the last year, he did eliminate six schools from consideration that had previously been on his list on Wednesday:

The most interesting school on the list is Notre Dame, which didn’t previously make the cut in his top 12, but is now in back in the mix less than a month later. The Irish could be in line to receive a visit from Adams this summer, but would otherwise have to compete with the other five schools to avoid being left off his official visit list.
The schools that didn’t make the cut from his original 12 include Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, USC, and UCLA. Adams told SB Nation Recruiting in April that he planned on making a trip out to California to visit the Trojans and Bruins, but it appears those visits will not happen.
One visit that will happen is to Florida this weekend, where Adams will catch up with his godfather, Florida recruiting coordinator Joker Phillips, who roomed with Adams’ father George Adams while both played college football at Kentucky. However, depth chart is one of the biggest factors for Adams, and the Gators will have three openings in their secondary entering next season, a fact that could play a bigger role in his recruitment than his connection to Phillips.
Either way, the visit to Florida appears to be a pivotal one in Adams’ recruitment as six teams vie for his five official visits.
