Isaac Remington charge dropped: Will Oregon lift suspension?

Oregon defensive tackle Isaac Remington’s blood alcohol level was not at the illegal level of intoxication, which played a part in his DUI charge being dropped.

According to Jack Moran of The Register-Guard, prosecutors have dropped DUI case against starting Oregon Ducks defensive lineman Isaac Remington, who's second among Ducks interior linemen in tackles for loss.

Remington, a senior, was suspended indefinitely the day of the arrest by head coach Chip Kelly. Whether or not Remington’s suspension will be lifted due to him not being formerly charged is yet to be seen. Kelly did say in a statement released hours after the arrest that the suspension was “pending clarification,” which could mean that now that Remington is not being charged, the suspension will be lifted.

Remington was stopped on Oct. 12 near the University of Oregon campus and took a breath test that measured to 0.06 percent in blood-alcohol content. In Oregon, intoxication is determined by a BAC level of 0.08 or greater.

Remington started the first six games of the season but served the first game of his suspension last week against Arizona State.
