Demarco Cobbs injury: Texas starter carted off, possible knee

Junior linebacker Demarco Cobbs became the second Texas defender to be hurt against TCU.

Texas Longhorns linebacker Demarco Cobbs was carted off in the second quarter against TCU after suffering an apparent knee or thigh injury while dealing with a cut block. The lineman's shoulder appeared to strike Cobbs, whose leg was planted, right in the knee.

Cobbs ranks third among Texas linebackers in tackles, with appearances in every game this year. He’s backed on the depth chart by Tevin Jackson, a sophomore who’s gotten plenty of reps this year and has posted 16 tackles of his own.

This follows up defensive end Alex Okafor's injury, which involved an offensive lineman toppling onto the back of his ankle. Okafor returned. Frogs blockers have been making aggressive blocks all night, and their running game is taking full advantage -- TCU has 129 yards rushing with 40 minutes still to go.
