Burger Beavers: Oregon State’s In-N-Out tradition

    Mike Riley

As we know, the mighty Oregon State Beavers are invincible whenever they play within proximity of an In-N-Out Burger. Mike Riley famously treated his players to classic In-N-MegaStackers (or whatever their burgers are called; I’m from Five Guys country) after knocking off UCLA in Los Angeles, then did the same in Tucson after outlasting Arizona.

But how long can the burger-powered Beavers last?

Arizona wasn’t going to go out without a fight. Down to Oregon State 17-7 at the half, ‘Zona came out of the locker room an entirely different team. They found their offense scoring 28 points in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough. Each time Arizona scored, Oregon State would counter with a score of their own, ultimately losing 38-35.

Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion had the better night of the two quarterbacks on the field. Mannion would go 29-for-45 with 433 yards passing, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. Nominee for best name ever, running back Storm Woods, carried the ball a team high 29 times for 115 yards and one touchdown.

And this was the point where College GameDay went completely off the rails. All it took was two words, following a segment about Mike Riley and Oregon State. “Beaver Juice” can make grown men turn into giggling boys.

Thank you for this, Desmond Howard. Best part of today’s show by a mile.

Sean Mannion, Matt Scott battle in Arizona vs. OSU

For head coach Rich Rodriguez and the Wildcats, their offense will look to get back on track against a stout Oregon State defense. Arizona entered last weekend as one of the better offensive teams in the nation, but they were held to zero points despite six trips to the red zone. Quarterback Matt Scott can be a force when healthy, but a hip issue limited him in his last game.
