Laremy Tunsil leaves Egg Bowl with left knee injury

Ole Miss’ freshman tackle is questionable to return to Thursday’s game.

Ole Miss freshman offensive tackle and top offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil has left Thursday's game with a left knee injury. He's officially questionable to return, according to press box reports.

Tunsil suffered the injury at the end of a run by Ole Miss halfback I'Tavius Mathers and limped off the field. Doctors examined Tunsil's knee, and he was seen walking on the sideline and testing it for a return:

Senior Emmanuel McCray, who started every game at left tackle for Ole Miss in 2012, has entered the game in Tunsil’s absence.

Tunsil, who was considered one of the nation’s top high school prospects when he signed with the Rebels in February, missed time in last week’s loss to Missouri for a similar knee injury. Head coach Hugh Freeze told reporters earlier this week that his offensive tackle was fine for Thursday’s Egg Bowl.
