Laremy Tunsil leaves Egg Bowl with left knee injury
Ole Miss’ freshman tackle is questionable to return to Thursday’s game.
Tunsil suffered the injury at the end of a run by Ole Miss halfback I'Tavius Mathers and limped off the field. Doctors examined Tunsil's knee, and he was seen walking on the sideline and testing it for a return:
Laremy Tunsil got his helmet back and is walking around. Tested it and shook head up and down.
— Chase Parham (@RivalsChase) November 29, 2013 Senior Emmanuel McCray, who started every game at left tackle for Ole Miss in 2012, has entered the game in Tunsil’s absence.
Tunsil, who was considered one of the nation’s top high school prospects when he signed with the Rebels in February, missed time in last week’s loss to Missouri for a similar knee injury. Head coach Hugh Freeze told reporters earlier this week that his offensive tackle was fine for Thursday’s Egg Bowl.
