Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops turned a few heads in early May when he questioned the notion that the SEC is the strongest conference in the country and suggested that the Big 12 is deeper from top to bottom. Some SEC coaches responded, though Nick Saban didn’t really have much time for that crap.

Surprise, surprise.
The numbers aren’t on Stoops’ side in this argument, but he has his supporters. They are Big 12 coaches, obviously. Self-described “numbers guy” Charlie Weis said he thought Stoops had a point. (Incidentally, Weis’ Kansas team is not helping with the whole point-making thing in this particular case.) And now there’s this:

Well that’s just swell. Let’s continue to revive this useless topic of discussion all summer, because the offseason isn’t painful enough already. Maybe we could find a message board for these coaches off in some back corner of the Internet.
