Georgia Tech quarterback Vad Lee is ‘Breaking Vad’

“Breaking Bad” and college football. It’s like this was made for the Internet.

Georgia Tech struggled to produce much, if any offense through 1 1/2 quarters Thursday night vs. Virginia Tech, but at least Yellow Jackets fans managed to find some opportunity for entertainment with the name of Yellow Jackets quarterback Vad Lee.

ESPN broadcaster Rece Davis must also be entertained, as he’s made not one, but two pop-culture references after managing to sneak a Ric Flair reference into the first half of the game as well.

The “Breaking Bad” theme is an obvious one, considering the show’s finale was three days away, but hey, they got themselves onto TV.

Lee started off slow, completing just three of his first eight passes for 67 yards and one interception. He did manage an eight-play, 43-yard drive early in the second quarter, but was unable to get the Yellow Jackets into the end zone. Harrison Butker kicked a 49-yard field goal to make the score 14-3, Virginia Tech.
