FCS Championship Game 2014: North Dakota State vs. Towson game time, TV schedule, radio streaming, odds and more

Can the Bison pull off their third straight championship game win?

North Dakota State is the two-time defending FCS champion and faces an upstart and talented Towson team Saturday in this year’s championship game. Television coverage begins at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The Bison have not lost a game since October 2012, and ran through their schedule this season with just two wins of less than 15 points -- at Kansas State and versus Northern Iowa. The game will be Craig Bohl’s last hurrah as North Dakota State’s head coach, after being hired by Wyoming.

Towson went 10-2 in the regular season, finishing second in the CAA to Maine, with losses to Villanova and Delaware. The Tigers were the seventh-seed in the tournament, defeating Fordham, Eastern Illinois and Eastern Washington to get to this point.

The numbers

Rankings and records: North Dakota State entered the playoffs ranked second (behind Eastern Illinois), while Towson was ranked ninth. This is the second-ever meeting between these two teams, after the Bison won 24-17 in the 1983 Division II quarterfinals.

Vegas: The Bison are 13.5-point favorites, with an over/under of 57 points.

Weather: Mid 50s and cloudy.

Three names to know

Brock Jensen. North Dakota State’s quarterback is a legitimate dual-threat, and has 42 total touchdowns this season. The senior is a power runner and is looking for his third national title.

Craig Bohl. Before heading to Wyoming, he’ll be looking for his third straight title as a coach and his 104th career win with the Bison. He’s the all-time winningest coach in school history.

Terrance West. The powerhouse Towson back has scored more than 40 touchdowns this season, and will be seeing a lot of the ball on Saturday.

Two things at stake

North Dakota State is hoping to end the Bohl era on the most positive note possible.

Towson has defeated the two teams many thought were the biggest contenders: Eastern Washington and Eastern Illinois. They’re hoping to continue their improbable run with a championship.

How to witness

TV: 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Radio: KFGO-AM 790 and KRWK-FM 101.9 in Fargo.

Online streaming: WatchESPN.
