Michigan’s Board of Regents plans to review athletic director Dave Brandon at Thursday’s meeting, regent Denise Ilitch told WWJ CBS-TV in Detroit, via ESPN.

The end of Dave Brandon’s tenure in Michigan could be near.
Brandon has come under fire for the program’s handling of quarterback Shane Morris’ injury in a Sept. 27 loss to Minnesota. Morris, already hobbled by an ankle injury was wobbly after taking a big hit in the fourth quarter. Backup Devin Gardner briefly entered the game, but Morris soon reentered -- even with the game out of reach for the Wolverines -- instead of Gardner remaining in or a third-string quarterback taking the field.
Since then, both Brandon and head coach Brady Hoke have faced increasingly heavy scrutiny. Two weeks ago, students petitioned and rallied for the firing of Brandon. This past weekend, Spencer Hall went to Ann Arbor, where the mood was bleak.

“The systems failed, and there are a lot of issues we have to review,” Ilitch told WWJ.
Only university president Mark S. Schlissel, who took over the job July 1, has authority to fire Brandon. The Board of Regents certainly has influence, however, and the vibes around Ann Arbor don’t bode well for Brandon.
