How to watch TCU vs. West Virginia: Game guide, TV schedule, streaming, odds

Two top-25 Big 12 teams battle in Morgantown.

After putting up a ridiculous 82 points the last time out, TCU has little time to rest with a trip to Morgantown on tap to face West Virginia on Saturday. The Mountaineers also enter the game confident, riding a four-game winning streak after taking down Oklahoma State on the road, 34-10. To make the contest even more hyped, College GameDay will be in town.

TCU's huge win over Texas Tech was keyed by quarterback Trevone Boykin, who went 22-of-39 for 433 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. That was more than enough to boost his candidacy as a Heisman darkhorse, especially considering the Horned Frogs' No. 7 standing in the inaugural College Football Playoff.

If they can get past the Mountaineers, next week’s game vs. No. 9 Kansas State is the Frogs’ final game vs. a regular-season ranked team. A three-point loss to Baylor is the only blemish on TCU’s resume. Boykin and kicker Jaden Oberkrom were named the Big 12 Offensive and Special Teams Player of the Week following their performances vs. OSU, and they’ll need to come up big again this week against the high-flying Mountaineers.

West Virginia isn’t in a bad position either for the College Football Playoff. Its only blemishes are a 10-point loss to Alabama in the opener and a 12-point loss to Oklahoma in late September. Since then, the Mountaineers have won four straight, including a 14-point win over Baylor and the road win at OK State. An upset win Saturday would ignite West Virginia for the stretch run, which is entirely manageable except for a home game vs. Kansas State.

Two things at stake

For TCU, it’s the push for a Playoff spot.

For WVU, it’s the change to continue opening eyes in the Big 12.

One big matchup

Boykin vs. West Virginia’s defense. TCU’s offensive numbers are certainly bloated after its beatdown of Texas Tech, but facts are facts. The Frogs rank sixth in passing offense with 360.1 yards per game, and first overall with 50.4 points per game. West Virginia is 54th in passing defense at 218.4 passing yards allowed per game, and 55th in scoring defense with 25 points allowed per game.
