Dan Mullen, like Les Miles, claims no contact with Michigan

Who are the Wolverines talking to?

Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen says he has not talked with any school besides his own about coaching positions, via The Clarion-Ledger. Mullen could be a top target for the open Michigan job.

Mississippi State athletic director Scott Stricklin said he is hopeful the Bulldogs will be able to sign Mullen to an extension, and dismissed talk that he could be a candidate elsewhere.

“Those are the same people that told me he was on the hot seat last year,” Stricklin said. “I don’t put a lot of stock in that.”

A Pennsylvania native, Mullen has never coached at a Big Ten school. He was hired at Mississippi State, his first head coaching position, prior to the 2009 season. During his time with the school, the Bulldogs have posted a 46-30 record capped by a 10-2 mark this regular season.

LSU head coach and former Michigan player Les Miles also denied contact with Michigan Monday.
