It’s been well-documented how much success Jim Harbaugh could potentially bring Michigan football, but he also might help the Wolverines’ basketball program for a day. Harbaugh is expected to be announced as the new UM coach at the Tuesday basketball game against Illinois.
Jim Harbaugh news quadruples Tuesday’s Michigan basketball ticket prices
Wolverines fans can’t wait to see their (likely) new coach.

That rumor has caused demand for the basketball game to go through the roof, and the price has quadrupled (or more, depending on who you ask) over the past few days.
Cheapest tickets for Illinois @ Michigan on Tuesday went from $30 to $130 after Harbaugh news broke https://t.co/kiV8M4xF2X
— RedditCFB (@RedditCFB) December 28, 2014 We bought our Michigan/Illinois tickets two weeks ago for $25 each. Cheapest one now is $124. #Harbaugh
— Connor Stalions (@cstalionsuofm) December 28, 2014 Michigan bball tickets were $40 a piece a few hours ago now they are $130 just because Harbaugh is expected to talk at halftime
— Devin Thomas (@Devinthomas_1) December 28, 2014 A week ago, I bought my dad & I Michigan/Illinois basketball tickets for $30 a piece. Now on stubhub those tickets are $135. #Harbaugh
— JIM HARBAUGH 〽️ (@ZHarig23) December 28, 2014 We can’t go back on StubHub and see old prices, but before this news came out, tickets in the fifth row, plus a parking pass, were going for $60 a piece on Craigslist, so it seems legit.
This is the Harbaugh factor, which now apparently has an effect on basketball games.
