Sefo Liufau injury: Colorado QB re-injures right ankle

He returned to the game, but it got off to a poor start his second time around.

Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau has battled an ankle injury for most of the season since tweaking the right one this season against Michigan. Early in the Pac-12 Championship Game, Liufau rolled his ankle on a sack and left the game, ceding QB duties to Steven Montez.

Liufau was seen getting his ankle taped up on the sideline.

Before trying to test out the ankle gingerly on the sideline.

Montez came out for the second drive of the game as well, and FOX reported on its broadcast that the decision will be Liufau’s on whether he will return or not. With just under eight minutes left in the second quarter, Liufau went to the locker room with the Colorado training staff.

He would return to the game for the start of the second half, but on his first two passes he threw interceptions. Including this one.
