Lamar Jackson’s day has been not very fun. In a nutshell, this safety about sums it up.
Lamar Jackson’s 1st half against LSU was bad, like the year 2016
It hasn’t been a good day.
Jackson has been sacked five times in the first half against LSU, and things are looking a lot like they did during the loss against Houston. A talented and fast defense is just pinning its ears back and straight up coming after him as he runs for his life.
But always remember, that one person’s really cool stiff-arm move ...
... is another person’s savage sack.
Through halftime, Jackson is 2-10 through the air with -40 rushing yards. Yes the number is eye popping, but for whatever reason college football still counts sack yardage against a QB’s rushing total, so that’s why it looks even worse than it already is (and it’s pretty bad).
Jackson’s 2016 started at such a torrid pace, and he rightfully rode that success to the Heisman trophy. But the end of the season hasn’t exactly been to the high bar he set in September.
