Leonard Fournette writes personal letter to fans and declares for the NFL draft

The stud RB is headed to the league.

In a move that will surprise few, LSU’s Leonard Fournette is taking his talents to the NFL after his team’s bowl game against Louisville.

In a heartfelt letter penned to Tiger fans everywhere, Fournette thanked fans coaches and teammates for playing a part in his success at LSU.

The former five-star recruit’s final season with the Tigers was marred with injury. An ankle injury suffered in preseason camp dogged the back all season and forced him to miss five games. He nearly missed a sixth, but was motivated to play after a pregame fracas against Florida. He’s also still termed as day-to-day in regard to his status for the Citrus Bowl. Fournette still rushed for 843 yards in seven games, including 284 against Ole Miss.

At his healthiest, he dazzled us with displays of power and speed.

Despite essentially playing two full seasons and only part of a third, Fournette is still the fourth-leading rusher in Tigers history, with 3,830 yards to his credit. He also holds the record for rushing yards in a single season with his sophomore campaign in which he totaled 1,953.
