So, your league is forcing you to draft a kicker? That could be considered a war crime under the Geneva Convention, but if you’re okay with it, we’ll move on. If you aren’t, well, time to start your own political party to win the hearts and minds of the electorate. But I digress. We’re here to rank kickers.
Top fantasy football kickers for 2025
Chet Gresham looks at the top kickers for fantasy football heading into the 2025 fantasy football season.

Last season our fantasy kicker champion was the Dallas Cowboy’s Brandon Aubrey. Aubrey was indoors often and had a fast paced, pass heavy offense getting them into the opponents’ side of the field. Plus, Aubrey was just good and was given more chances due to how well he played.
Kickers, for the most part, have trouble with aggressive coaches wanting to go for it instead of kick. Being able to hit 50+ yarders helps mitigate that or you could have a coach like Mike Tomlin, who doesn’t want to risk losing those three points on his way to a 9-8 record. Teams who get leads also aren’t as aggressive since they don’t mind taking the three points to extend a lead versus going for seven to make up a deficit.
Stream kickers off waivers
In fantasy, you can stream kickers off the waiver wire without much trouble. Look for teams in domes or good weather, at home, who are favorites; the bigger the better. Look for kickers going up against defenses that tighten up in the red zone. And lastly, check on if the kicker is making his kicks. The last part isn’t always that important unless he’s in an unbelievable slump and the team is afraid to run him out there.
Sure, taking a player like Aubrey earlier than usual in your fantasy drafts might work out, but if you can take a flier on an upside running back or receiver instead, always choose the non-kicker. You aren’t going to win your league off the leg of a kicker. Last season, if you started every kicker against the Panthers, you would have had similar fantasy numbers to Aubrey.
In the end, don’t get too worked up over kickers who average 8 fantasy points per game at 15th overall and 11.3 fantasy points at first overall. Sure, if kickers get a disproportionate amount of fantasy points for 50+ yarders, then grab Aubrey earlier than you would, but also, get yourself out of that league.
