Drafting a quarterback in fantasy football is always a bit stressful. They score the most fantasy points on your team, but the difference between then No. 5 fantasy QB and say No. 12 isn’t all that much. There are multiple ways to approach the position. You can go safe by grabbing one of the Top 4 quarterbacks early or wait on someone you believe has good upside to finish in the Top 10 or maybe better.
Top 35 fantasy football quarterbacks for 2025
Chet Gresham takes us through the top 35 quarterbacks for the 2025 NFL season.

My fantasy QB drafting strategy
I used to always wait on quarterbacks. There was plenty of value in the middle to late rounds of drafts and since you only need one starter in most leagues, finding a good backup and streamable options wasn’t too tough. But, I have slowly changed my ways. Now that we have safe quarterbacks who have extremely high floors due to their rushing ability, I at least go into drafts wanting to grab one of the running QBs.
Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, and Jalen Hurts are all great picks and easily ahead of the pack. If I can grab one of them in the third round or higher, I’m going to jump at the chance. If I can’t, there are plenty of signal callers I’d grab later and if I can get two QBs I like so I have a better chance on hitting on one, I’ll do that as well.
QBs I like outside of the Top 10 in ADP
Justin Fields, Jets
Fields has a strong fantasy floor due to his rushing ability, but isn’t an early round pick due to his suspect passing ability. The worry for Fields is whether or not he’ll keep the starting job, but with the Jets, he has no real competition. The main worry will be possible injuries due to him taking more hits than most quarterbacks. It might not always be pretty, but Fields continues to show his rushing ability is real and will keep his fantasy points steady.
Dak Prescott, Cowboys
Prescott is primed for a good season with the addition of George Pickens as the WR2 in Dallas. The combination of CeeDee Lamb and Pickens makes for what could end up being the best receiver duo in the league. Prescott doesn’t run like he used to, so his upside is capped somewhat, but I expect this Cowboys team to throw the ball a ton.
Drake Maye, Patriots
Maye showed that he could perform well with a below average set of offensive players surrounding him last season. This season he got some upgrades at playmaker positions with TreVeyon Henderson and Stefon Diggs and when you add in his rushing ability, I expect him to have some nice fantasy football spike games this season.
Caleb Williams, Bears
These next two picks are all about an upgrade in offensive play calling. For Williams, he gets a huge boost with the addition of Ben Johnson as the Bears new head coach. There is little doubt that Johnson put together a tremendous offense in Detroit and did so with a somewhat average QB in Jared Goff. How quickly he can get the Bears offense clicking is an open question, but there is plenty of talent there and Williams is poised for a big second-year leap.
Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars
Hope for Lawrence comes from the addition of Liam Coen as the new head coach in Jacksonville. Coen comes from the Sean McVay coaching tree, which already bore fruit as Coen helped Baker Mayfield turn into a fantasy stud last season. Lawrence has been similar to Mayfield in his career, as he hasn’t lived up to his hype coming out of college. But this could be a turning point for Lawrence. Add in Travis Hunter to go along with Brian Thomas Jr. at receiver, and the needle is pointing up for TLaw.
