The 2025 NFL season starts Thursday night when the Super Bowl champion Eagles host the Cowboys, then we get the Chiefs and Chargers in Mexico, then Sunday we have more games than you could ever need for a single day of sportsing, and finally, Monday night brings us a little more football to get us through until Thursday when we start it all over again.
Top 32 fantasy football D/STs for Week 1
Chet Gresham takes us through the top 32 D/STs for Week 1

Week 1 odds
When looking at odds to help us decide on a D/ST, there are a few key points.
- Touchdown plus favorites are a good place to start. Yes, teams trailing big are going to throw a bunch and possibly put up some strong fantasy numbers in garbage time, but they also become predictable. If you are a pass rusher, you can pin your ears back and not worry about the run. That is a good spot for sacks and interceptions, which are great for fantasy points.
- Take favorites, at home, with their opponents implied total at 20ish or less.
- Stay away from high scoring totals where the favorites are only favored by 3-points or less. We’d love to avoid shootouts where one team isn’t forced into predictability.

Streaming D/STs
Arizona Cardinals vs. New Orleans Saints
Will the Saints be as bad as as they look like they’ll be? Probably. Sure, they’ll have flashes and Week 1 is always a good time for bad teams to look better than they are, just think of there Saints last season. But, there is no doubt they have an extremely weak QB room, which is the best way to find good matchups for D/STs.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Houston Texans
I like C.J. Stroud, but he’ll be in a tough situation to start the season. Last season Stroud was sacked the second-most of any quarterback in the league. Now his weak offensive line faces a ferocious Rams pass rush. It helps that they are in Houston, but I’m still on the Rams here for a useful streaming option.
