Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is upon us and the action will continue on Sunday with the Chicago Bears visiting the Detroit Lions in an NFC North battle at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
Jared Goff start or sit: Week 2 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Jared Goff ahead of the Lions’ Week 2 matchup against the Bears.

Week 1 was a house of horrors for the Lions as they were shredded by the Packers in a 27-13 road loss to open the season. Veteran quarterback Jared Goff couldn’t get much going for the offense throughout the afternoon and he will look to get the reigning NFC North champions back on track with a win this week
Below, we’ll go over Goff’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 2.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions QB Jared Goff
Goff went 31-39 for 225 yards with a touchdown and an interception in Sunday’s loss, finishing as the No. 21 QB in fantasy football for the week with 11.9 points. The Packers defense completely shut down the Lions’ run game, forcing the Lions to air it out more and as Doug Farrar pointed out, Goff was completely under duress whenever Micah Parsons was on the field. The QB still finished the game with a positive EPA, so that’s a good sign for him moving forward
Start or sit in Week 2?
Start. I’m willing to chalk the Lions’ showing in Week 1 up to the Micah Parsons trade blowing up everything that had planned for Green Bay prior. During his time in Detroit, Goff has typically bounced back in weeks following dud performances and I think that he can get on track at home in Ford Field.
