Kyle Pitts start or sit: Week 4 fantasy football advice

The Kyle Pitts breakout isn’t going to happen it seems, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a startable player in fantasy football. So far, Pitts ranks as TE13 in PPR leagues and doesn’t have a touchdown reception. He ranks seventh in targets, fourth in receptions, and 12th in yards. His usage isn’t elite, but it is good enough to have some consistency.

Unfortunately, Pitts doesn’t have a target from inside the red zone yet. That’s annoying and hurts his upside and until we see his targets expand, he’s going to remain on the edge of startable in fantasy.

Below, we’ll go over Kyle Pitts’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 4.

This week the Falcons host the Commanders in Atlanta. So far, Washington has given up the ninth-most fantasy points to tight ends, with the bulk of those stats coming from Tucker Kraft, who caught 6-of-7 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown against them. They did slow down Brock Bowers, who didn’t seem to be 100% with his knee injury, while Tre Tucker went ballistic instead.

The matchup is positive, and we can expect Pitts to once again be one of the top 3 targets. The upside isn’t where we’d like it to be, so there is reason to look closely at other options, but he is startable in most leagues.

Start. His PPR value has been better than his standard value by a good margin due to his lack of touchdowns and yardage. He’s getting shorter receptions than in years past, which hurts his upside, but helps his PPR value.

Sit. This one is debatable, as we can’t count on touchdowns from any tight ends, but we know Pitts has been weak in the touchdown department his whole career. If you need him, I’m fine with giving him a start in standard, but I like 12 other tight ends better this week.
