Coming into this season I sure didn’t think there would ever be a reason you might sit Ladd McConkey in any fantasy league, but at this point, we do need to take a second look at what’s going on with the Chargers passing offense.
Ladd McConkey start or sit: Week 4 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Ladd McConkey ahead of Week 4

The good news is that the Chargers have leaned into the pass and decided to put their trust ins Justin Herbert. That means the offense can support more than one receiver, but how many more? So far the target numbers are — Keenan Allen (28), Quentin Johnston (24), McConkey (21). That puts McConkey at 25th in wide receiver targets. That’s not bad for the third-most targeted player on a team. He’s also playing a bigger percentage of snaps this year than last, so there’s no reason to believe his lack of production has anything to do with ability. So far, he has yet to catch a touchdown while Johnston has three and Allen has two. If he had just one single touchdown, we probably wouldn’t even take a second look as to whether or not we should start him.
Below, we’ll go over Ladd McConkey’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 4.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers, WR, Ladd McConkey
So far this season Johnston has been the breakout receiver for the Chargers, as he’s been hooking up with Herbert on multiple big plays. Teams are going to have to account for him more than they have been, which should open things up for McConkey. And this week all three of their receivers have a great matchup against a bad Giants secondary.
The Giants have allowed the second-most fantasy points, receptions, and yards to wide receivers so far. All three starting receivers are must starts for the Chargers in Week 4.
