Week 5 of the NFL season is upon us, but before we look forward, let’s take a look back at the top plays of Week 4. Once again, Puka Nacua went off. This time he caught 13-of-15 targets for 170 yards and a touchdown. Him and Stafford are unstoppable right now. George Pickens ended up WR2 with CeeDee Lamb out, while Romeo Doubs caught three touchdowns in that same game to end up WR3.

Chet Gresham takes us through the top 100 PPR WRs for Week 4

Maybe the most interesting news comes from the Chargers and Quentin Johnston, who has clearly taken over as the Chargers WR1. His 13 targets easily led the team in their loss to the Giants, while his eight receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown helped him finish as WR6 for the week. With Keenan Allen also picking up a big number of targets out of the slot, Ladd McConkey has been the WR3 on the team so far. I’m sure he’ll break out sooner than later, but there just aren’t enough targets to go around to keep three receivers fantasy starts each week.

Rome Odunze, DJ Moore, Luther Burden III, Drake London, Darnell Mooney, Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, DK Metcalf, and Calvin Austin
WR injuries/news
Tyreek Hill, Dolphins
Hill suffered a devastating knee injury that could keep him out into the 2026 season. Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane are likely to see the biggest uptick in fantasy value, while Darren Waller, if he can stay healthy, becomes a strong pick up after catching two touchdowns in his season debut. Wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine took over for Hill instead of Malik Washington, so he should have some value, but isn’t a must pickup.
Malik Nabers, Giants
We had two season-ending injuries to good fantasy wide receivers this week, but Nabers is likely more impactful to your fantasy teams. His torn ACL will force WanDale Robinson to take on more work and a higher fantasy upside. After Nabers went down, Robinson began to play outside in two receiver sets and in the slot in three receiver sets, per PFF. That’s exactly the kind of work you want to see from your fantasy receiver.
Ricky Pearsall, 49ers
Pearsall hurt his knee in Week 4 against the Jaguars. The good news is that it isn’t a significant injury and there is a chance he can play this week, but it will be tougher since they play on Thursday night. Jauan Jennings also hurt his ribs, which is his third body part to be injured so far this year. Jennings did play through the injury though. Kendrick Bourne ended up with the second most snaps, while Demarcus Robinson saw a bump after Pearsall left the game. If Pearsall can’t play, Jennings, as long as he plays, would probably be the only strong fantasy start at wide receiver of the group.
CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys
Lamb rolled his ankle in Week 3 against the Bears and will be out 3-4 weeks. The team hopes he can return sooner than the four games that putting him on the PUP list would require. George Pickens put up a big game in his absence last week and should continue to be a top play while Lamb heals.
Terry McLaurin, Commanders
McLaurin suffered a quad injury in Week 3 against the Raiders. Deebo Samuel should be a must start while he is out, but we still don’t have a timeline for his return, though he hasn’t been put on I.R.
Mike Evans, Buccaneers
Evans strained his hamstring in Week 3 and will miss 3-4 weeks. Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka are both startable in his absence.

WanDale Robinson, Giants vs. Saints
Robinson will see an uptick in work and targets with Malik Nabers done for the season. He also gets a great matchup against the Saints, who have given up big games to Marvin Harrison Jr., Jauan Jennings andJaxon Smith-Njigba. On the season they rank third-worst in total EPA and EPA per play allowed to receivers. Plus, he’s only rostered in 49% of Yahoo leagues.
Elic Ayomanor, Titans vs. Cardinals
Ayomanor leads the Titans receivers in targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns. That doesn’t mean he’s a must start each week, as the Titans just aren’t moving the ball much. But he does have two touchdown receptions and leads the team in air yards. Big games are on the horizon if he continues to see this workload. The Cardinals pass defense has allowed the most receptions and the fourth-most receiving yards on the season.
