The Dallas Cowboys came out of Week 4 with a 40-40 tie against the Green Bay Packers. It was a great offensive showing without CeeDee Lamb. They showed us Lamb doesn’t make or break their fantasy appeal. This week they face the Jets in New Jersey as 2.5-point favorites.
Jalen Tolbert start or sit: Week 5 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Jalen Tolbert ahead of Week 5

Last week George Pickens filled in for Lamb and finished second in fantasy points for wide receivers as he caught eight passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Jalen Tolbert ended up second in receiving yards on the team as he caught four passes on six targets for 61 yards. It wasn’t a big fantasy day, but he was very much in the mix.
Below, we’ll go over Jalen Tolbert’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 5.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cowboys, WR, Jalen Tolbert
The Jets have allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season, while ranking third-worst in EPA and eighth-worst in DVOA against the pass. This is a positive matchup for Tolbert. Pickens and Jake Ferguson will continue to be the top target guys on the team, so there is always a chance Tolbert gets lost in the mix. The Cowboys are only 2.5-point favorites, while the Jets have played relatively well against the run. If Justin Fields and company can keep this one close, Tolbert should have more opportunities to be a useful fantasy start.
Start or sit in Week 5 PPR leagues?
Sit. I currently have Tolbert ranks as WR44 in PPR leagues, which, depending on your league could mean he is worth a flex play. But as it is, I’d rather play it safer if possible.
Start or sit in Week 5 standard leagues?
Sit.
