The Las Vegas Raiders could be without Brock Bowers this week as he continues to deal with a knee injury. Bowers has been playing through the injury while wearing a brace, but there was little doubt he wasn’t 100% as his play reflected that. Bowers went over 100 yards in Week 1 against the Patriots where he injured his knee, but since then, he hasn’t topped 46 receiving yards, while going scoreless.

Brock Bowers injury updates
Bowers practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday, but then didn’t practice either Thursday or Friday. He was listed as questionable on Friday and head coach Pete Carroll told reporters Bowers was just resting his knee and that he was optimistic the tight end would suit up against the Colts.
Bowers also talked to reporters and said, “I want to be back to going full speed, being able to separate from guys. I feel like I can’t really do that to the best of my abilities right now,” per Ryan McFadden. Then, on Saturday, NFLN’s Ian Rappoport reported that Bowers was trending toward not playing, despite Carroll’s optimism. That sounds like the smartest way to go, as there is no reason to keep their best receiver out there in a situation that can’t be helping him get closer to full health.
Fantasy football analysis
I think we can count on Bowers sitting this week out. His backup, Michael Mayer, is also out, which likely leaves Ian Thomas as the starting tight end. This is a situation to avoid, but could help Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker see a few more underneath targets this week.
