Week 6 of the fantasy football season is here, but before we get into all that, let’s take a look at how things are going in wide receiver land. So far Puka Nacua and Amon-Ra St. Brown are your No 1 and 2 fantasy receivers on the year. That would surprise absolutely nobody. No. 3 is rookie Emeka Egbuka, which isn’t a surprise based on his ability, but is somewhat of a surprise that he’s risen to these heights. Mike Evans’ absence of course helps, but with just 25 receptions compared to Nacua’s 52, there is no doubt the young man’s efficiency is amazing so far. At 17.8 yards per catch, he leads all receivers who have more than 15 receptions on the season. And even when Evans gets back, the Bucs are not going to put the genie back into the bottle.

WR injuries/news
Ricky Pearsall, 49ers
Pearsall hurt his knee in Week 4 against the Jaguars. The good news is that it isn’t a significant injury and there is a real chance he can play this week against the Falcons. He missed Week 5, but it was a short turnaround due to the Thursday night game. With a mini-bye, his chance to play seemingly go up.
Jauan Jennings, 49ers
Jennings also couldn’t play last week due to rib and ankle injuries, but the mini-bye should help him as well. There is a real chance the 49ers look much healthier this week on offense when they take on the Buccaneers,
CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys
Lamb rolled his ankle in Week 3 against the Bears and has missed Week’s 4 and 5 so far. He has yet to practice, so a Week 6 return doesn’t seem likely, but a return to practice might. George Pickens will continue to be the WR1 while he is out and this week they face a poor Panthers defense.
Terry McLaurin, Commanders
McLaurin suffered a quad injury in Week 3 against the Raiders, but wasn’t put on I.R. He has a chance to return this week on Monday Night Football against the Bears, but we’ll need to see him get on the practice field. Deebo Samuel continues to play well in his absence.

Troy Franklin, Broncos vs. Jets
Franklin hasn’t broken out again, after his strong game against the Colts, but he’s remained the top target behind Courtland Sutton. This week he faces a poor Jets pass defense that also has a very good Sauce Gardner taking on the opponent’s No. 1 receiver. That should free up more looks for Franklin in a good matchup.
Rashid Shaheed, Saints vs. Patriots
Shaheed had a long touchdown reception last week against the Giants, which is his specialty. And this week he gets another good matchup in the home dome against the Patriots. New England has allowed the second-most receptions over 20+ yards and the third worst completion percentage on those throws.
